Dear Parents and Students:
I hope this letter finds you enjoying your summer vacation. I am looking forward to the upcoming year at Roger Ludlowe Middle School and I anticipate some exciting opportunities for all of our students. Please mark your calendar that opening day for all students is Thursday, August 30, 2018. Orientation will be held for grade 6 students on Wednesday, August 29th.
All summer mailings, schedules and crew letters will be posted through Infinite Campus and on our website, (under the “Parents” link) during the week of August 20th. Infinite Campus Messenger is our primary mode of communication with parents. Please take a moment to check your contact information in the contact preference area of the full portal (this is not available in the app). The district, schools and teachers use your email address to send notices and correspondence and many of them are out of date, as we have seen many messages bounce back to the district as undeliverable. Your child will receive an explanation of his or her day-to-day schedule on the first day of school.
We are all committed to our children and support them in all that they do. We all want the best education, the most enriching extra-curricular experiences, and a wide range of opportunities for our children so that they will grow up as caring, ethical, responsible and productive citizens in today’s ever-changing world. The beginning of a school year brings excitement and a renewed sense of purpose. I encourage you to work with your child as the year begins to set personal and academic goals. The RLMS faculty will be encouraging students to revisit their goals throughout each of the marking periods to reflect on their learning. The partnership that we develop as students, parents and educators is essential. By working together, students will develop a sense of responsibility, self-confidence and build the skills necessary for success as lifelong learners.
I am looking forward to our journey at Roger Ludlowe Middle School and I am most looking forward to working with you. Do not hesitate to contact me or any of our staff if you have any questions or concerns regarding the upcoming school year.
